For CAPE 2016, local area high school students were given the opportunity to create custom art covers for blank cover comic books.  The 2016 theme was "The Walking Dead".

The CAPE Art Project will continue for CAPE 2017.  High School Art Teachers have been contacted and the students have begun designing their covers.  Any Art students not taking Art classes can still participate by contacting CAPE by email (cape2015@hotmail.com) to obtain a copy of the comic.  Please mention this Art Project to your local high school Art Teacher for more details.  20-30 students from each high school are chosen every year to create one-of-a-kind artwork for the comic book covers which will be given out to all of the attendees who purchase Deluxe Passes for CAPE 2017. The CAPE 2017 theme is "Marvel Superheroes".

How does it work?

Comic books are given out with blank covers and the artist can choose to do a front cover only or complete front and back cover in whatever medium they wish.  Copies will begin to be distributed in September and all completed artwork will be due for return by March 31st, 2017.  Students do not get to keep the original work but will receive a full colour copy as a keepsake. CAPE looks forward to seeing all of the great talent showcased once again for CAPE 2017!
